How to prevent spam registration information and spam in WordPress

In WordPress, if you frequently receive emails about new user registrations, it may be because your website allows user registration and there are robots that automatically register a large number of users. Here are some solutions that can help you reduce or prevent these spam emails:

1、Disable user registration
If your website does not need the user registration function, you can disable user registration by following the steps below:

    1. Log in to your WordPress backend.
    2. Go to Settings -> General.
    3. Uncheck the option “Anyone can register”.
    4. Save changes.

2、Use a captcha (such as reCAPTCHA)
You can add a captcha to the registration form to prevent robots from automatically registering:

      1. Install and activate a captcha plugin, such as Google reCAPTCHA.
      2. Configure the plugin and enable the captcha feature in the registration form.

      3、Install an anti-spam plugin
Using an anti-spam plugin can help you reduce spam registrations:

        1. Install and activate an anti-spam plugin, such as Akismet or Anti-Spam Bee.
        2. Configure the plugin to filter spam user registrations.

        4、Restrict to specific email domains
You can restrict users to register with email addresses from specific domains:

          1. Install and activate an email domain restriction plugin, such as Email Domain Blacklist.
          2. Configure the plugin to add blacklists or whitelists.

          5、Manually review user registrations
You can enable manual review of user registrations so that only approved users can log in:

            1. Install and activate a user registration review plugin, such as New User Approve.
            2. Configure the plugin to manually review user registrations.

            6、Modify the registration URL
Modifying the registration page URL can make it more difficult for robots to find your registration page:

              1. Install and activate a custom login URL plugin, such as WPS Hide Login.
              2. Configure the plugin to modify the default registration URL.

With the above methods, you should be able to effectively reduce or prevent spam user registrations. If you have any questions or need further help, please feel free to let me know.
