Let’s say you were born with the Sun here, somewhere in Capricorn, you are born between December 21st to uh January 20th, sort of. Let’s say that in the time of your birth, the Moon was in Leo. Let’s put your Moon here in Leo. And let’s say the time of your birth, your Mercury was in Sagittarius. And let’s say that Venus was in Taurus. Let’s say that Mars was just near Venus in Taurus as well. And Jupiter was in Virgo. And Saturn was in Capricorn. And Uranus was in Virgo as well. And your Pluto was in Libra. Ten planets in your chart in different signs in different locations; those all will matter.
Now, each one of those planets is carrying a certain vibration and a certain function, but also each one of those planets is a natural ruler of each one of those signs. So when you’re born, it doesn’t mean necessarily that the planet that is ruling a sign naturally would be in that sign at the time of your birth; on the contrary, it probably won’t be there. Some people have it, some people don’t; some of the planets do that when we’re born. So don’t be alarmed if you see that planets that are ruling naturally a certain sign are in a different sign; this is normal; this is what’s happening usually. So these are planets in houses. Whenever we see a house that has planets in it, that house has more emphasis to it, so that life department is more highlighted for you, and it will be more active than houses that are empty. However, the fact that the house is empty does not mean that nothing is happening there; we all have empty houses in our chart, and those houses will be active, and we will figure out how to find out what’s happening through those houses.
So what did we learn until now? Let’s recap.
We learned that there is a circle of 360 Degrees that represents our birth chart; that circle is divided into 12 houses. The H1 represents a life Department, then we have the ascendant that is being ruled by whatever sign was rising at your birth chart, and the rest of the houses will follow with consecutive signs to show their arrangement for your particular chart. Then we have the planets, the players, those parts of ourselves that are located in certain parts of our chart, and those houses will deal with those energies. So the second house in this particular case would deal with the energies of Venus and Mars for that particular person. Uh, the fifth house will deal with the Moon here, but you may have different arrangement overall; it’s one of the houses that has planets. Those planets meaning would have to be integrated with the house, and they’ll show us what’s going on for you usually in that life department. So for that person that we have right here, his tenth house, his career house, is really important for their lives because the Sun, which is the most important part in our birth chart, this is what we are striving to be; this is what we are becoming to be, is right here in the 10th house, wanting to shine. So he will put an emphasis on his career wherever your Sun is; this is what you’re learning to be. There are other lessons of course, but they’re all served in the Sun. Then for this person, the Moon it will be in the fifth house, which it is, so their love life or their self-expression would be really important for them. So far so good. There is another component that we didn’t talk about, and those are the aspects.
So we have houses which are where things are happening; we have planets which are the main players; we have signs which give us the style. Each sign has a different style and mode of operation; each sign has an element and has a modality that it works through. I’m not going to get into the elements in the modes; it’s a big subject on its own. But each sign has its own style of being. So you may have your Sun in Capricorn or in Sagittarius or in Libra because at the time of your birth, this is where the Sun was; so this is your Sun sign. However, your Moon can be in a totally different sign, and your Mercury can be in a totally different sign. So the signs are the style the planet will work with. So we have to combine the planet keywords with the sign style with the house location; those are the three pillars.
