What is LandingPage and what does it do?

Generally, this page is the first page we show to web visitors. Then, we guide visitors to click the button by properly arranging CTA buttons (call to action) on this page, and then send them to the real offer page. Then some friends must ask, why do we go through such a big circle instead of sending visitors directly to the offer page?

In fact, the reason is very simple, because the direct link method allows visitors to jump directly to the offer page, which can no longer allow users to get a good conversion on our offer page. Without conversion, there is no commission, in other words, we can’t make money. Just like I demonstrated step by step in my previous blog, all traffic is directly imported to the offer through a simple direct link. It is also explained in the previous tutorial. This is just to let us understand what media buy is faster and to lead everyone to build the first campaign as simply as possible and put it on the traffic platform, so that we will get a lot of statistical data on the backend of voluum. With these data, we can continue the campaign optimization course later. To put it bluntly, it is completely for learning. We use the direct link method to run traffic. At this stage, learning the relevant knowledge of mediabuy is the most valuable for us. But it is very likely that the campaign we set up for teaching practice has barely turned green (that is, it has not turned profitable). If you have a green campaign on hand, it can only mean one thing, you are really lucky. (I suggest you consider buying a lottery ticket!) In recent years, the competition for traffic in pop has become increasingly fierce, so you can’t expect to make a fortune just by learning a little bit of the fur in the front.

Another very important reason to learn to use LP is that without sufficient warm-up, some types of offers will not convert at all (or at least will not convert very well). Maybe many people ask: “If I link directly to a bunch of offers first, then see which offer converts best, and then test the landing page, will it be more efficient?” I understand that you want to take shortcuts and improve the efficiency of your work, but in this case, it is not a good idea.

Because if you want to get a good offer conversion rate, generally you need to warm up the offer, so in other words, you need to test your LP from the beginning. So how do you know which types of offers need a landing page to have a good conversion rate, and which offers can be converted directly? Here are some tips to help you decide from the beginning whether you should use a landing page to test the offer, or whether the target offer page directly linked to by direct link is OK.

1) Sweepstakes type offers and antivirus software offers usually require LP to convert well. 1/2click offers for carrier billing usually convert through direct links, especially entertainment offers, such as games or video subscriptions, which are naturally tailored for direct links.

2) You can judge by using spy tools.
If you use spy tools such as “Adplexity” or “Anstrex” (for more information about this tool, you can click here), you can first search for your offer type (for example, if you are running a sweepstakes type offer, you can search for keywords such as “iphone x” to find similar offers), and then you can find that everyone who has found this type of offer on the spy tool uses LP as a preheating method, then this means that you should preheat the offer through LP from the beginning. At the same time, you can use these spy tools to download some LPs used by others that you think are good, and you can modify them slightly to use them as your LP.

3) You can ask your AM!
Ask him or your friends in your circle for advice. The importance of learning LP can’t be overemphasized. This is not just crucial for pop traffic. Basically, no matter what type of traffic you decide to use in the future, you need to understand how to use LP to fully warm up your visitors. Even if you have the resources to outsource this part of the work, you still need enough knowledge to guide you to judge what kind of LP is enough for you to warm up your visitors. So-don’t feel complacent just because you have mastered the previous directlink to run pop traffic! I know direct links are easy, but please start using LP to run your media buy traffic as soon as possible, because you will thank you for making the right choice later. So where can I get these landing pages? Generally, there are several ways to get LP, which I will list below.

1) Download (or “modify”) them from your competitors. This can be further broken down into 2 methods:
a) Manually find those websites that you know often show pop ads, then pay conscious attention and choose the appropriate ad pages to download them. Remember what I mentioned in my previous blog post? There are often these pop advertising resources on torrent resource download sites for you to find and download. When you find the landing page you want to download, you can use software such as HTTrack to download it, or you can download it directly from the browser (for example, in Chrome, right-click anywhere on the page with the cursor and select Save As). This method will take a long time to collect landing pages, because you have to click on the ads one by one and check whether the landing page of this ad is in line with the product of the offer you are promoting. If not, you can only close it and find the next one. Moreover, unlike using Adplexity/Anstrex spy software to find LPs, you will not know the quality of the landing page you find, whether it can attract a lot of traffic (that is, it is attractive enough to visitors) to click the CTA button to go to the offer page, so that more visitors can eventually touch the conversion button of the offer. But if you really think it is a waste to buy the SPY tool at the beginning, you can also get some collected landing page resources from me, which can be used directly after a little modification.
b) Use a SPY spy tool, such as Adplexity or Anstrex. Using these tools, it will automatically monitor the advertising placement on a large number of websites around the clock to find and download landing pages and other related attached files (such as css, js, image files, etc., which are attached in addition to HTML files), and display all landing pages to you in a sortable format so that you can retrieve, download and use the landing page of your choice.

Adplexity has many sub-categories, make sure to order only Adplexity mobile at first, if you are using Anstrex, then you can start with the pop version to explore. The landing page you downloaded from Adplexity or Anstrex may not work as is. In order for their web page effects to display properly, some of the coding needs to be corrected. Again, I will provide some guidance on how to correct these errors in subsequent courses.

2) Write a landing page yourself from scratch or using a generic template.

In fact, I don’t recommend you to go this route at the beginning, even if you are a professional coder. The main reason is that the new landing page (written from scratch or using a template) is not verified by traffic. You will have little idea how the new landing page you worked so hard to write will perform, whether web visitors will like it, and whether it is attractive enough to attract more click-through rates (CTR is high enough). Worse, since you may use it with a newly applied offer, if your advertising campaign does not convert well, you will not know whether it is your offer that has problems or the landing page that is not performing well. Testing the LPs you downloaded from the Internet at the beginning will save you a lot of time. You can pick one or two LPs that you think are the best, and then you can modify them slightly, change the pictures or change the fonts. In this way, you can get several different landing pages. Combine them with your offer, and then you can split-test the group test. The landing pages that you see appearing the most repeatedly must be the more popular landing pages, and it is certain that these LPs must have made some media buyers profitable (or at least are landing pages with high profit potential, otherwise if these landing pages have no conversion effect, then there will definitely not be so many people using them to run traffic). So we can deduce a strategy through logic. If you separately test 5 to 10 of the most popular LPs you downloaded from Adplexity or Anstrex, then the landing page with the best performance among these 5-10 LPs should be the closest to the ideal LP. We can think of this LP as an LP that has been verified by traffic to be attractive to visitors. Once you have tested such a landing page, you can use it as a benchmark to separately test some other landing pages you got from other places. Through this continuous comparative testing, you can eventually select the best and find the landing page with the best conversion.

3) Find an expert who specializes in writing web pages and ask him to make a landing page for you.
Hire a coder on a part-time platform. You can hire someone to help you make a landing page. The full-time monthly salary is generally not less than 3,000, and the total working hours are less than the full-time working hours.
